Presidents Day Event 2014 Champions

5th_presDayCongratulations to the Tucson HEAT 5th Grade Boys, Presidents Day Event 2014 Champions. The Tucson HEAT 5th grade boys traveled to Phoenix to participate in the Presidents Day Event and came away Champions. The HEAT averaged 49.5 points per game and held their opponents to 26.2 points per game while winning every game by double figures.

heatLogoCongratulations to the 5th grade Tucson HEAT Red for the 3-1 record at the Sporting Chance Tournament in December 2013.

The team lost a heartbreaker in the semifinals but battled hard all tournament long and more importantly had fun.

5th grade Tucson HEAT White fought to a 1-4 record in the Sporting Chance Tournament December 2013, earning a spot in the final game of the consolation bracket.  This team is less than one month old yet they went out there and gave it their best shot.

Hardwood Harvest Tournament Results

Congratulations to 5th grade Tucson HEAT Red for earning runner up in the 5th/6th grade division of the Hardwood Harvest Tournament.  The team played very well all tournament while accumulating a 3-1 record.  Great Job HEAT Red. Photos below.

Also congratulations go out to 5th grade Tucson HEAT White.  Tucson HEAT White went 1-2 in the Hardwood Harvest Tournament,  their first tournament as a group.  The HEAT White competed hard throughout the tournament.  Great Work HEAT White.

The Tucson HEAT 3rd/4th grade team was victorious at the 2013 Spring Roadrunner Tournament.

The boys also won the 2013 Sporting Chance Summer Slam Tournament. The Summer Slam has been a tradition in Tucson since 1994. Held on the University of Arizona campus, and soon in the new Sports Center, it is one of the largest tournaments in the Southwest, attracting a diverse mix of teams — including teams from the Western US and Mexico – that makes it a unique and competitive experience. – Sporting Chance Summer Slam

Ironwood Ridge High School basketball coach Brian Peabody will take four teams to the AAU spring tournament in Las Vegas next weekend. His premier team, Tucson Pump N’ Run, has a chance to make a mark at the elite-level this summer. It includes six college prospects of various levels: Santa Rita’s Terrell Stoglin, Cienega’s Brandon Burnett, Pueblo’s Mike Perez, Cholla’s Ajak Magot, Tucson’s Sama Taku and Sabino’s Matt Korcheck.
